Please join us on Wed, 28th Jan '15 at 7:30pm at the Lucy Evans Palo Alto Baylands Nature center for a presentation by Suzi Eszterhas on 'Navigating Your Passion Project'

At some point every professional wildlife photographer must start choosing projects that will pay the bills. But whether you are professional or not, passion projects keep our creativity and inspiration alive. And sometimes you should just go for a project you’ve always dreamed of, whether it is lucrative or not. In this talk, I will focus on how to navigate a passion project from start to finish, illustrating the process with my own stories and photos. Planning and funding, are only the beginning. Then come the issues that photographers face on the ground, including security, transportation, staying healthy, employing local guides, working in blinds and camouflage, and staying safe among dangerous animals. I’ll also address some of the challenges and special security issues that women face in working in cultures that are oppressive to women. And finally, how, after bringing the images home, a photographer can share them with the rest of the world.

Suzi Eszterhas is an award-winning wildlife photographer based in California.
