Photography has been a part of my life since I was a child. I was always the family member with the camera and the maker of way too many peel and stick albums! I've moved along from point and shoots to Canon film cameras (my own darkroom) and, since 2003, Canon digital. Life has ups and downs, times of contentment and times of disruption. I have noticed that my relationship with my photography and the creative process is the same. Many times my zest for life, or my holding back from it, are reflected in my relationship to my camera.

For 8 years, I ran my own portrait photography business and learned a tremendous amount about camera work, editing, connection with people, and finding meaning (within others and within myself). When I moved back to California from Pennsylvania two years ago, I closed my business. I also injured my back and did not work with my Canon for over a year. This was a difficult time and I'm glad to be emerging from it. Part of that emergence is to start using my camera more, start "seeing in photographs" again, finding volunteer opportunities to use my portrait skills and just generally finding that magical photography relationship again.

My favorite equipment
Canon 5D MarkII, loads of lenses, but the two I use the most are my 85mm 1.2 and my 24-70 2.4.
