I've been a fan of photography since my grandpa first built me a darkroom in our basement in the 1960s. He also willed me his old Bronica which I made a lot of use of with slide film until it was eventually stolen in the 80s.
I got into digital with my first DSLR, a Nikon 70s and have proceeded to update when I could afford it, to a Nikon d90 and now a d800. Think I'll stop there for awhile.
Two years ago I juried into a Palo Alto gallery in back of Printer's Ink cafe and had two co-shows in the first year with two other photographers from the Gallery House. I print and mat my prints, using an Epson R3880 printer and my favorite paper, Epson Premium Luster.
At the end of the year, I retired from teaching high school and my husband and I rented out our Menlo Park house and went to live in Florence, Italy for 6 months, then a houseboat for another 3, then a tour of Banff and Yellowstone for the remaining time - it was a great decision though hectic at times.
Now, I'm looking for a community of photographers with whom to share ideas and keep my interest in photography alive and growing.
