Flower Girl, an image by PACC member Bob Henderson has been selected for inclusion in THE PORTRAIT exhibition at Praxis Gallery and Photo Arts Center in Minneapolis.
In her book, Portraits and Persons, writer Cynthia Freeland describes three essential elements that constitute a portrait: (1) a recognizable physical body (2) an inner life, i.e., some sort of psychological or mental states, and (3) self-presentation, or the "posing”. Praxis Gallery solicited photographic art that celebrates the aesthetic and conceptual considerations involved in the creation of the portrait, revealing personal narratives or new anthologies through the artistic representation of the subject. Ross Anderson, a fine art photographer and Program Director of Praxis, was the juror. The exhibition will be on the walls June 15 through July 13. Bob says: Flower Girl was shot at a booth in the Mountain View Farmer’s Market. I was struck by the young lady’s eyes and her tattoos which went well with the flowers she was selling. A similar image taken at the same time took an Honorable Mentation in the Club’s 2022 annual competition.

Praxis Gallery and Photographic Arts Center is a non-profit community-based arts organization that aims to support the development of emerging photographic artists.
