Images by PACC members Ken Fowkes and Elaine Heron have been selected for inclusion the Triton Museum of Art’s statewide 2D Art Competition and Exhibition, 2024 Salon at the Triton, in Santa Clara.  There were more than 2100 submissions across multiple disciplines, and 119 works were selected.  The juror was Aly Gould, executive director of the Pacific Art League.

Ken’s image is Snappy Ol’ Gal, and he says:  I was captivated by the expressive posture of this dried daisy way back in 2015.  I didn't know it at the time, but this flower was the first subject I photographed for what was to become a series based on dried or wilting flora.  Six years later, when the series became my project for a class I was taking from Victoria Heilweil, I dusted this daisy off and re-photographed it in the style of my developing series.  Yes, I still have the daisy today!

Elaine’s image is Contemplative Task, and she says:  This is a photograph of a monk in a monastery in Thailand.  He had studied in the UK so he spoke good English.  He goes by the name Tom.  He was very helpful in explaining things to us and was kind enough to allow me to photograph him doing his daily chores.
