Images by PACC members Yumiko Ready, Chris Stevens-Yu, and Wright Schickli were selected for inclusion in The Streets Exhibition at the Praxis Gallery and Photo Arts Center in Minneapolis. Praxis sought photographic art that explores the genre of street photography from all angles, including people, urban structure, and documentary subject matter. Valérie Jardin, an award-winning French photographer whose work is characterized by a strong sense of narrative, was the juror. The exhibition will run from September 21 through October 12. The opening reception will take place on Saturday, September 21, 6 to 8 PM. The temporary gallery may be seen at https://www.praxisphotocenter.org/7-temp-gallery.
Yumiko’s image is Lisbon’s Alleyway Serenity.
She says: While strolling near the Alfama district in Lisbon one morning, I came across a woman walking gracefully down a quaint, serene alley. Her dark skirt stood out against the warm glow of the cobblestone street and the pastel hues of the surrounding buildings. The scene was a perfect blend of historical charm and tranquility.

Chris’ image is The Times.
He says: I’m attracted to scenes that have a nostalgic sense to them. While on an Uber boat on the Thames in London, I noticed this man reading his paper with beautiful light coming in from the window. Felt like I’d been transported back in time.

And Wright’s image is Photo Booth.
He says: I captured this image while at a wedding, and when I spotted the photo booth, and curtain (with feet and body parts visible behind), I sensed a photo, and waited . . . and maybe happened to capture a moment. I had no clue it was my son-in-law and my daughter. He was picking up a Tarot card from the floor of the Booth. I didn’t ask my daughter what card it was she read to him.
