Serpentine, by Allyson Ely, is one of 45 images selected for inclusion in the 2025 Members’ Juried Exhibition at the Center for Photographic Art in Carmel. The juror was Allie Haeusslein, Director at Pier 24 Photography in San Francisco. Of more than 2400 images that were submitted from photographers around the world, forty-five were selected for exhibition in the gallery and on the website. An additional 45 images were selected for the online gallery. All ninety images will be published in a catalog. The exhibition will run from March 29 through May 4. The opening reception and announcement of juror awards will take place on Saturday, March 29, 4 to 6 pm.
Allyson says: Playful shadows twist, turn, and embrace these massive cement silos--the graceful curves a contradiction against the rough, cement surfaces. The harsh, noon light transforms these industrial buildings into a softer landscape where dramatic shadows become part of the silos themselves.
