Warning Shot, an image by Wright Schickli, was selected for inclusion in The Art of Street Photography exhibition by The Chateau Gallery. Street photography is a unique art form associated with a photographer's skill in capturing a moment that would have gone unseen without their intervention. Whether it's capturing the energy of bustling streets or the quiet solitude of hidden alleyways, Chateau invited photographers to share their visions of the human condition. The exhibition runs from March 1 through April 1. All images can be seen online at https://chateaugallery.com/exhibitions/the-art-of-street-photography-2025.
Wrightsays: I captured this image in Ushuaia, Argentina, in February after returning on the boat from Antarctica. I ventured about town and noticed a bullet hole in the glass shelter of a bus stop that I thought would be interesting to incorporate into an image. When I spotted the realistic-looking soldiers standing by with guns, I knew just what to do even though people were looking at me strangely – line up the shot with my camera and make it appear as if the soldiers were shooting at me!

Set in the heart of Historic Old Louisville Preservation District, The Chateau Gallery, aka TCG, is a contemporary hybrid art gallery and studio with a narrative as captivating as the artwork housed within its walls. The building’s unique Chateauesque Victorian architecture lends itself to the gallery’s name. Throughout its many lives, this building has served as the estate of a tobacco baron, a funeral home, the Kentucky College of Barbering, an unlicensed child care center, a "drug dealer's palace," and a law office.
