Master Bedroom, an image by Wright Schickli, was selected for inclusion in The Art of Abandonment exhibition by The Chateau Gallery. The exhibition explores abandoned and rediscovered objects, locations, and structures. It runs from August 1 through September 1. Wright says: I captured this image in Cincinnati as the sun was setting. I had photographed this house carefully from the outside for a couple years and noticed some of the foliage had been cut back. I had my Q2 monochrome, went closer than ever before, and noticed the door was open… I just had to go in without a monopod or tripod to defend myself against whatever was in there… I wish I had gone upstairs but the light was almost gone. My family was really upset when they saw my photos and knew I had gone in “there”…

Set in the heart of Historic Old Louisville Preservation District, The Chateau Gallery, aka TCG, is a contemporary hybrid art gallery and studio with a narrative as captivating as the artwork housed within its walls. The building’s unique Chateauesque Victorian architecture lends itself to the gallery’s name. Throughout its many lives, this building has served as the estate of a tobacco baron, a funeral home, the Kentucky College of Barbering, an unlicensed child care center, a "drug dealer's palace," and a law office.
