Steve says:  I made this image just over a year ago, while taking an online workshop with the photographer and artist extraordinaire Roxanne Overton. The workshop explored the intentional camera movement (ICM) technique. One week, our assignment was to make ICM photos of subjects that were themselves in motion. I went to Shoreline Park in Mountain View, and found that the bicycle riders along the bayfront pathways seemed like promising subjects. I liked the composition of the raw image that became Ghost Riders, but the colors were challenging – very bright, warm golden yellows in the foreground grasses, and dusty pinks and blues in the sky in the background. The dissonant colors made it feel almost like two different images. So, in post, I went black and white, and then added some color tone back with a color gradient in Photoshop. That helped impart a  more harmonious and intimate feeling to the image.
