Winter Titan and Winter’s Call, images by Julia Hallee, were selected for inclusion in the black/white exhibition at the A Smith Gallery in Johnson City, Texas. A Smith welcomed images reflecting the theme black/white. The juror for the exhibition was Michael Kirchoff, photographer, curator, artist, and editor of Analog Forever Magazine. The exhibition runs from October 10 through November 20. The reception will take place at 3 pm CDT on October 25, and will be posted as a YouTube video in Gallery Conversations. Julia says: I’m drawn to the subtle and unnoticed: shifting light, natural textures, and the quiet rhythms of the world around us. Winter Titan was captured using a converted infrared camera, revealing a stark ethereal quality to a passing cloud over a favorite peak in Tahoe near my home.

Julia says: Winter’s Call was the result of a quiet fascination with a creature I hadn’t connected with before. Watching her in a snowstorm, I became completely enchanted—it's a moment I’ll never forget.

Both of Julia’s images were selected for inclusion in “the 27”, a limited-edition hardbound fine art book of twenty-seven images from the exhibition.
