Image by Judy Kramer Included in PAL’s 104th Anniversary Exhibition

Frozen in Time, an image by Judy Kramer, was selected for inclusion in Pacific Art League’s 104th Anniversary Exhibition and Fundraiser, a celebration of creativity, community, and the enduring power of the arts. The juror was Veronica Roberts, John and Jill Freidenrich Director of the Cantor Arts Center at Stanford University. The exhibition will run from November 14 through January 13. The opening reception – free and open to everyone and an opportunity to see local artwork in a congenial atmosphere – will take place on Friday, November 14, 5:30 to 8:00 PM. The vernissage and a silent auction will take place on Wednesday, November 13, 6 to 9 PM – tickets are $104 per person.

Judy says: Frozen in Time was taken by placing my iPhone flat on the surface of the floor of an ice cave in Alaska’s Matanuska Glacier. We reached the large ice cave by helicopter in March 2025 and entered wearing crampons on our shoes so we wouldn’t slip (and warm clothes!). I loved the sense of depth and arrested movement caught in the blue ice of the cave floor.

Pacific Art League is a non-profit arts organization. Since 1921, PAL has been dedicated to the great tradition of promoting art, training emerging artists and enriching lives in the San Francisco Peninsula. PAL currently enrolls over 2,500 students of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels in classes taught by a faculty of more than forty experienced artists.
