Off Broadway (Louisville, KY 2023), an image by Wright Schickli, was selected for inclusion in Decagon Gallery’s Forgotten Architecture online exhibition. Decagon invited photographers to show what remains when structures are no longer inhabited – industrial relics, urban decay, forgotten modernist facades, infrastructural fragments. Andrew Moore, known for his long-term photographic series and a faculty member at the School of Visual Arts in NYC, curated this exhibition. You can see all the decay here: https://www.decagongallery.com/forgotten-architecture.
Wright says: This abandoned factory lies about two blocks off Broadway in my hometown of Louisville. I’ve been back several times over the years, and most of the structures are still there, in the heart of downtown. I was fortunate to have interesting clouds on this particular visit.
