Ripples at Dusk, an image by Marcia Lepler, was selected for inclusion in the Exhibition Gallery portion of the Quiet Landscape: Beauty, Stillness, and Connection Exhibition at PhotoPlace Gallery in Middlebury, Vermont. The exhibition celebrates the beauty, stillness, and quiet power of the landscape. The juror was Kat Kiernan, a Brooklyn-based artist and writer, and Manager of Public Programs at the Morgan Library and Museum in New York City. Thirty-five images were selected for the in-house Exhibition Gallery, and 40 images were selected for the Online Gallery.
The exhibition will run from November 6 through November 28. You can see these quiet images at https://photoplacegallery.com/online-juried-shows/quiet-landscape-3/gallery/exhibition-gallery and at https://photoplacegallery.com/online-juried-shows/quiet-landscape-3/gallery/online-gallery.
Ripples at Dusk was one of three images selected for Honorable Mention in the exhibition.
Marcia says: I took this picture two months ago at Bear Lake in Bear Valley. My 11 year old grandson Andrew wanted to catch fish when the water was calm and shallow and the sun had not set yet. Andrew did not catch a thing, but I had fun watching him, while I took in the beautiful surroundings, the pattern of ripples and the overall feeling of peace.
PhotoPlace Gallery, located in the oldest remaining residence in Middlebury, offers monthly juried exhibitions to photographers worldwide, each with a new topic and an internationally recognized juror. All images selected for the Exhibition Gallery will hang in the physical gallery for the duration of the exhibit; and those selected for the Online Gallery will be viewable in the gallery by continuous-loop projection. Images from both galleries remain permanently on the website, are reproduced in the exhibition catalog, and are promoted on social media.
