Images by Wright Schickli and Phil Lewenthal were selected for inclusion in the online beauty exhibition at the A Smith Gallery in Johnson City, Texas. A Smith welcomed images reflecting the theme beauty – grace, charm, refinement, allure, allurement, lovely, glamor, delicacy, cuteness, pretty, elegance, diverse interpretations of beauty – and encouraged photographers to explore its many forms, qualities, and meanings. Wendi Schneider, a Denver-based artist, photographer, and collector, was the juror. The exhibition runs from October 16 through November 26. The reception will take place at 3 pm CDT on October 31 and will be posted as a pre-recorded YouTube video in ASG Conversations and Gallery Talk (blog), https://asmithgallery.com/blog/. Wright’s image, , Mexican Lily 2, was selected for inclusion in “the 27”, a limited-edition hardbound fine art book of twenty-seven images from the exhibition. He says: Mexican Lily 2 is a macro photograph that I captured in a neighbor’s yard after she suggested she had an unusual flower about to bloom and that I might like to photograph it. I had neither heard of, nor seen, a Mexican Lily before. It is an evergreen perennial with an amazingly beautiful flower stalk that can grow up to seven feet high.

About Passing, Phil says: I had the good fortune to have a couple of photos in a show recently and a couple of friends came up from SoCal to attend the reception. We visited Camera West's new store in SF, and while they were looking around, I was lucky enough to catch a moment when people were walking past the store as well as being reflected in the window across the way.
