An Image by PACC member Barbara Davidson has been selected for inclusion in the exhibition, The Shape of Things, at the Praxis Gallery and Photographic Arts Center in Minneapolis. In this exhibition, Praxis presents photographic art that showcases composition – In the words of Henri Cartier-Bresson: the rhythm of surfaces, lines, and values; an organic coordination of visual elements.
Barbara’s image, Edibles #2, is part of a series of images of vegetables with interesting shapes, textures, and a certain ambiguity. Each work is a composite of an original photographed image that has been printed, physically cut out ,and then scanned onto a solid black background.
Edibles #2 has also been shown in exhibitions at the Pacific Art League in Palo Alto and the Community School of Music and Arts in Mountain View.
The exhibition will take place September 18 through October 2. The opening reception is Saturday, September 18. The online exhibition is not yet available.
