Images by PACC member Chris Stevens-Yu, Judy Kramer, and Barbara Davidson have been chosen for inclusion in Pacific Art League’s 100th Anniversary Exhibition. George Rivera, former Executive Director and Chief Curator for the Triton Museum of Art and former Director and Curator for the San Jose Art League, was the juror.
Five images by Chris were selected:
Perseverance

2020 Vision (shown at right)
About this image, Chris says: This image is from my long-term project, 2020 Vision. The series is an exploration of time passage during the pandemic and represents our lives being upended by canceled plans, missed gatherings, and feelings of missing our “normal”, whatever that was. I placed myself in the center of public spaces with my gaze fixed on the viewer to invite them into a shared moment. Symmetry and use of motion blur are key compositional and storytelling elements to tie the images together.

Lines and Angles #3
About all three images, Judy says: The three photos are from the McMurtry Building for the Department of Art and Art History on the Stanford campus. It is really cool:

My husband and I had been prowling around the Cactus Garden in April 2020 and decided to prowl a bit further.

About all three images, Barbara says: These works are composites of photographs of small leaves, seeds and flowers that I took on my walks during Covid. The backgrounds are from a series of black and white photographs I made of the creeks I crossed during those walks.
