Image by Phil Lewenthal Selected by the Dallas Center for Photography

Sea Palms, Sonoma Coast, an image by PACC member Phil Lewenthal, was selected by the Dallas Center for Photography for inclusion in its On the Move exhibition. Images that were selected exhibit the enjoyment, restlessness, chaos, and simplicity of movement. Nimi Natan was the juror.
Phil says: This was a photo that I took in January, 2021, at Sea Ranch and that I submitted in competitions at PACC as well as another organization. After making some tonal and cropping changes that were inspired by the comments at those sessions, I arrived at the final image. This process shows the tremendous value of participating in an organization like PACC. Many of you are familiar with my fondness for the sea palms that grow on the ocean rocks off the Sonoma coast. Their ability to withstand the ocean swells has been an inspiration to me during the COVID years(!). It was my hope that this image would convey their strength.
