Solitude, an image by PACC member Phil Lewenthal, was selected for inclusion in the Quiet Landscapeexhibition at the PhotoPlace Gallery in Middlebury, Vermont. Landscapes of all genres – natural, urban, industrial, abstract – were welcomed into this exhibition. “Show us how you see the world, while embracing the quiet and minimal”. Jacob and Alissa Hessler were the jurors. Up to thirty-five images were selected for the in-gallery exhibition, and up to forty additional images were selected for the online exhibition.
Phil says: I took this photo in Bodega Bay one day when the surf was active and the sky was overcast. I was drawn to the bird sitting atop the large rock and was lucky to get the shot when I did because it flew away a minute later! As for an image that was chosen for another exhibition, I took advantage of suggestions to crop in a bit and bring out some texture in the water. Frankly, if it weren't for the example set by others in the club, I would probably never have started submitting images to exhibition calls, so a big shout out to PACC!
