Image by Wright Schickli Selected by the Praxis Gallery

Destruction Zone, an image by PACC member Wright Schickli, has been selected for inclusion in the Food ~ The Aftermath exhibition at the Praxis Gallery and Photographic Arts Center in Minneapolis.

This Praxis Gallery exhibit focuses on works that explore any possible concept of the aftermath of food. Praxis was not interested in idealized food, but rather photographs that document the leftovers, the remains, the aftermath of food during or after its consumption. Praxis directors juried the exhibition.

Wright says: This is a photo of my grandson Ansel’s 3^rd birthday cake after he destroyed it with the toy construction vehicles that came on top of the cake. I think he enjoyed using his new toys more than the cake! THANK YOU to my Crop Circle Small Group friends who made very helpful editing suggestions and encouraged me to submit this image.

The in-gallery exhibition will run from June 18 through July 2. The opening reception will take place on Saturday, June 18, when the awards will be announced. The current location of the online exhibition is (as of this moment – before it’s moved):

Praxis Gallery and Photographic Arts Center is a non-profit community-based arts organization that aims to support the development of emerging photographic artists. Tuesday through Friday: By appointment

Gallery open hours: Saturday, 12 PM to 5 PM during exhibitions

Masks are required for those not fully vaccinated.
