Attitude, an image by PACC member Wright Schickli, has been selected for inclusion in the Open Theme exhibition at the Praxis Gallery and Photographic Arts Center in Minneapolis.

This Praxis Gallery Exhibit focuses on photographic art of any genre and any subject matter that represents the artist's endeavor to reveal though the photographic process a personal declaration of visual significance - be it a celebration of pure aesthetic formalism, of humor or conflict, of fiction or fact, or of any other literal or ephemeral lens-based investigation. The Judge was Ann Jastrab for whom (citing Elliott Erwitt) "photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting . . . It has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them."

Wright says: I walked past this young couple late one evening on my way home from a photo walk and thought to myself . . . another photo I'll regret not taking. So . . ., I just turned around and captured this (and several other) images of the couple from a low angle, handheld at 1/10 of a second while holding my breath and almost choking myself with the camera strap tight around my neck, leading to somewhat unintentional selective focus on her face. [Yes, I did ask their permission.]

The in-gallery exhibition will run from August 27 through September 10. The opening reception will take place on Saturday, August 27. The current location of the online exhibition is https://www.praxisphotocenter.org/temp-gallery-1-2ot2.

Praxis Gallery and Photographic Arts Center is a non-profit community-based arts organization that aims to support the development of emerging photographic artists.
