Images by PACC members Nadine Levin and Beatriz Martinez have been selected for inclusion in the Monochrome Exhibition at the PhotoPlace Gallery in Middlebury, Vermont.
The objective of this exhibition is to celebrate the beauty and powerful expressive ability of monochrome photography. Any capture method and all processes, including black and white, alternative process and monochromatic toning, were welcome. The juror was Jennifer Schlesingerr – an artist, curator, gallerist, and educator based in Santa Fe. The exhibition will take place from October 27 through November 25.
Nadine’s sensitive image, Sands of Time, was selected for inclusion in the Exhibition Gallery and is an older one from her archives. Sands of Time won PACC’s Anne MacKenzie award in 2016.
Nadine says: The image for me is about time. Similar to sand, time can metaphorically slip through our fingers, but we can also elect to be aware of how we protect our time.

Beatriz’ interesting image, Showers, was selected for inclusion in the Online Gallery. Showers was the Second Place winner in the Creative category of the July, 2022, PACC digital competition.
Beatriz says: I took this picture while walking around the San Antonio Center in Mountain View (on Showers Drive). It was during the Pandemic, and the Center was empty. While walking around, I noticed a Billboard on one of the walls, peeling out; one of the corners picked my attention, and this is where this image came from. I try to look for ordinary things and capture them to become different and memorable. If we look closely, we can find pictures at places where we never expected.
