Ladder, 2022, an image by PACC member Allyson Ely, was chosen as a Juror Selection in the Patterns and Shadows online exhibition by the New York Center for Photographic Art (NYC4PA). Traer Scott, a photographer who specializes in animal photography, the human/animal bond, and conservation-themed fine art photography, was the juror. The call for entry proposed the creative use of dramatic changes of light and/or the use of patterns to form powerful images.
Allyson says: This image was taken inside a working, cement storage silo. I’m captivated by this quiet world of shadows, dim light, unfamiliar machinery, and discarded equipment. The juxtaposition of the productive with the abandoned gives this place an otherworldly feeling.
