Cubism, an exciting image by PACC member Nadine Levin, was chosen as a Juror Selection in the Abstract online exhibition by the New York Center for Photographic Art (NYC4PA). Darren Ching, co-owner and director of Klompching Gallery in Brooklyn, was the juror. There were 10 cash prizewinners, 20 Juror Selections, and 20 Honorable Mentions. The call for entry defined Abstract Photography as follows: Abstract art is art that does not attempt to represent an accurate depiction of a visual reality, but instead uses shapes, colors, forms and gestural marks to achieve the effect... This call is about those abstracts; images that are not instantly identified as that person, that thing, etc.
Nadine says: My image, Cubism, was created using in-camera multi-exposure with the intention of redacting parts of a whole and combining them in a way that they become another/different whole. The resulting image reminded me of a Picasso-type cubism representation.
