Image by Wright Schickli Selected by the Southeast Center for Photography

Attitude, an image by PACC member Wright Schickli was selected by the Southeast Center for Photography in Greenville, SC, for inclusion in its in-gallery Portrait Exhibition. The SE Center solicited portraits as objects of remembrance and reverence, seduction, glorification; that can stir, confront, drive to action; that can lull in longing for a time passed. Brian Clamp, professional photographer and owner of the gallery CLAMP in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, was the juror. The exhibition will take place December 1 – 23.
Wright says: I walked past this young couple late one evening on my way home from a photo walk and thought to myself… another photo I'll regret not taking. So… I just turned around and captured this (and several other) images of the couple from a low angle, handheld at 1/10 of a second while holding my breath and almost choking myself with the camera strap tight around my neck, leading to somewhat unintentional selective focus on her face. [Yes, I did ask their permission; but after this photo; the others were not nearly as nice.]. Special thanks to Brandon Stauffer for encouraging me to show this photo!
