1949 Nash Ambassador, an image by PACC member Wright Schickli, has been selected for inclusion in the Empty Places, Abandoned Places Exhibition at the Praxis Gallery and Photo Arts Center in Minneapolis.
In the Empty Places, Abandoned Places Exhibition, Praxis Gallery sought photographic art that explores the visual and social significance of abandoned space, where derelict factories, churches, private houses, or other empty places serve as the basis for creative investigation. Ross Anderson, an award-winning fine art photographer and filmmaker and program director of the Praxis Gallery and Photo Arts Center, was the juror. The exhibition will be on the walls December 16 through January 6. The opening reception will take place on Saturday, December 16, 6 to 8 PM.
Wright tells us: 1949 Nash Ambassador is an image I captured on an outing with two other members (Allan C. and Bob F.) when we went to Niles, my favorite place. I love old cars, and tried to make the car transcend into something else; maybe a Cat that was abandoned in an Empty Place.
