Two images by PACC member Rob Mathews of the early Christmas morning 3-alarm fire near Chef Chu’s in Los Altos were published in the online and paper versions of the Palo Alto Weekly.

Rob says: Around 5:30 on Christmas morning, my wife and I were awakened by lots of sirens. There was a three-alarm fire at 4600 El Camino Real, near Chef Chu's, and about 3 blocks from our house. I didn't see anyone else taking photos except a camera woman taking video for TV news. I took quite a few photos and offered them to local news services. Palo Alto weekly took me up on my offer, opting to use this overview photo I shot with my phone from El Camino looking east. I want to thank the Crop Circle for advice on the second, firefighter photo, and special thanks for Wright for suggesting I contact the Weekly.

Rob’s image that shows firefighters at work appeared in the January 5 issue of the Weekly in the Upfront section on page 9, El Camino Real remains partially closed after fire near Chef Chu’s.
