The CatchLight Visual Storytelling Summit, Seeing Truths, will take place on April 26 and 27 at KQED Headquarters. It comprises the annual fellowship benefit, the West Coast Review Sessions, panel conversations, and a night of photojournalism.
The Review Sessions provide a unique, photography-centered environment where participants have the opportunity to meet with photo editors at leading media and tech organizations, curators, publishers, and gallery owners. Participation is free of charge for the selected applicants. Funding is provided by Camera Obscura and the Minami Legacy Fund for the Arts.
CatchLight, based in San Francisco, is a visual-first media nonprofit organization that leverages the power of visual storytelling to inform, connect, and transform communities.
FotoFest is a Houston-based contemporary arts organization that serves as a platform for art and ideas by presenting internationally-focused photographic exhibitions, public programs, and publications. FotoFest's Meeting Place Portfolio Review is the longest-running international portfolio review program in the United States, and one of the world's largest. FotoFest and its partners have presented the Meeting Place around the world, in Beijing, Moscow, Paris, and online. And San Francisco, of course.
