Field Trip: Wildflower Safari: Edgewood Park
Friday, April 7, 2023, 9:30 AM until 1:30 PM

The heavy rains from recent months should make 2023 a truly exceptional year for Spring Wildflowers.  Each year, Edgewood Park proves to be a top spot for wildflowers in the Bay Area. So Edgewood Park will be our first Wildflower Safari for 2023.

Edgewood Park is conveniently located near the intersection of Hwy 280 and Edgewood Rd, about 25 minutes from downtown Palo Alto by car.

When I refer to Edgewood Park, I also include the Pulgas Ridge Open Space Preserve which is just across Edgewood Rd to the North

The Plan
A few days before the Field Trip some of us will tour the Edgewood area looking for the better Wildflower locations.  Those locations will then be highlighted on a digital map with locations for where we should meetup in the morning and where we should gather for lunch. The digital map will be posted at pacamera.com and emailed to those registered for the field trip by March 7.

Some Essential Information
Bringing Guests is encouraged.

If you plan to go, please register using the "Register Now" button on the right.  This way we can keep you informed via email as to where to go for meeting up, lunch and where are the better spots to go.

Schedule for the Day

10:00am Arrive at Edgewood Park.  At the meeting location we will form smaller groups, which is better for hiking, photography and social interests.
12:00 noon Picnic lunch.  Pack your own lunch, drinks and snacks.  One or two locations will be announced, this will be based upon park wildflower conditions and other factors. During this time, we can exchange information on which areas looked promising or inspiring.
 12:45pm Back on the trails
2:30pm  Back to our cars after a great day
