In our second member presentation of 2024, Jennifer Fraser (Landscape), Phil Lewenthal (Seascape), and Chris Stevens-Yu (Cityscape) will talk about their individual approaches to 'Scape Photography'.
Jennifer will discuss the ubiquitous topic of landscape photography with the subtopics of Composing the Shot, Favorite Settings, Stalking the Shot, and (Very Limited ) Post-processing in Photoshop . She will give examples of images to illustrate her comments and make notes available for anyone interested.
Phil will discuss his approach to long exposure photography on the Sonoma coast. He will talk about the gear that he uses, exposure settings, his approach to composition and post-processing, and will share some of his images. Says Phil, "No Doze or strong coffee is recommended, and for those who can hang in, Chris Stevens-Yu's presentation will follow."
Chris will discuss a number of important elements of cityscape photography (also referred to as urbanscapes), the various subcategories of cityscape photography, his particular approach, and considerations within this genre of photography. He will also share his own cityscape images and walk through a live edit of an image to demonstrate how he might bring an image to life from the original raw file
