Elaine says: Mongolian Eagle Hunter on Top of the Mountain is an image of Jenisbek, a well-known sportsman and athlete who works with golden eagles to capture small animals in western Mongolia. I have photographed him several times over the past 12 years. In this image he is sitting on the top of a hill with a young eagle he was training. The wind was very strong up there and the eagle, although tethered, was acting like she was soaring. I thought this made a beautiful composition and is very different than it would have been if she were just perched on his arm.
