A mini version of Chris Stevens-Yu’s City Angels portfolio will be in the January/February issue (#47) of The Hand Magazine, a print and digital magazine. The Hand never has a theme and accepts images that incorporate photographic or other printed media. During a portfolio review, Ann Jastrab recommended that Chris submit work to The Hand. Issue #47 will be released around January 10 and will include up to five of his images.
In his introduction to the City Angels portfolio, Chris says:
Birds create a sense of magic within our sprawling and hectic cities. When I see an old woman pausing to feed birds from her park bench, I’m filled with a sense of calm. The sound of a toddler running through a bunch of unsuspecting pigeons takes me back to carefree days of childhood. How mundane our cities would be without the awe of soaring birds illuminated by sunlight, like angels above the fray. Finding moments of stillness, chaos, beauty, and even humor, I hope to elevate our city angels and show them in a new light. We can all benefit from more angels in our lives.
