Images by Vardan Aroustamian Selected by 3 Square Arts Gallery

Three images by PACC member Vardan Aroustamian have been selected for inclusion in The Art of Still Life 2022 exhibition at the 3 Square Art Gallery in Fort Collins, Colorado.

In its request for entries, 3 Square Arts asked:  In our object and material rich society, there are many items for use by the artist for a Still Life.  What items will you use and how will you arrange them?  What is your take on the Still Life?

The jurors were Craig McKee and Kumiko S. McKee, and the curator for the exhibition was Kumiko S. McKee.

Vardan says:

There are many things hidden from us.  Finding the way to reveal them is what interests me.  These images are attempt to trigger viewer’s exploration of hidden by intentionally covering objects and then emphasizing the color and texture visible in halfway unwrapped objects.

These images are printed on canvas and then varnished using clear acrylic that retains the brushstrokes. For club members who are interested in painterly images I highly recommend this technique.

The in-gallery exhibition will take place January 14 through February 11; the opening reception will be Friday, January 14.  The exhibition page currently shows a list of the names of the artists as well as Vardan’s image, Still Life with Tulip and Oranges:

This beautiful image also appears on the home page for 3 Square Arts’ website.  [See Details below for the link.]
