Image by Peche Turner Selected by the Women’s View 2022 Exhibit

Chillin’ on the Floor, an image by PACC member Peche Turner, has been selected for inclusion in the 17th Annual Women’s View 2022 Group Art Exhibition in Redwood City.

Peche says:

I took this photo in the Amazon basin in southeast Ecuador.  We were visiting a village and I saw this young girl playing.  I smiled, she smiled; I motioned to my phone with an "OK to take a picture?" gesture, she nodded.  The village is fairly remote and traditionally the families have lived by fishing and farming.   Global warming and de-forestation have changed their environment, and I found myself wondering what life in this village would be like as this girl grows up.

Chillin’ on the Floor:

A young Kichwa girl in Amazonial Ecuador plays with her mother's calculator case on the floor of their hut.  With de-forestation, global warming, and commercial expansion what will her future hold?
