Images by Nadine Levin Selected for SSF Cultural Arts Commission Exhibition

Three images by PACC member Nadine Levin were selected for inclusion in the South San Francisco Cultural Arts Commission’s Momentum – Moving Forward virtual exhibition.  Life is always evolving, changing, and moving forward.  Photographers were encouraged to submit images that examined the human capacity to rebound from adversity and to reinvent.  Twenty-four images were chosen.  The exhibition was to have been an in-person event, but became a virtual exhibition as the Omicron variant surged.  The exhibition runs through March 21.

Nadine’s image, Manzanita Tree Running in the Forest, was the First Place image.

She says:  When making images in the forest, I saw a Manzanita Tree that looked like it was running.  Using Intentional Camera Movement technique, I was able to capture a feeling of forward Momentum of the Tree.

Nadine’s black & white image, Children Riding Toward School, taken in Amsterdam before the pandemic changed our lives, was the Third Place image.  An additional image, Light Moving Forward, was made while shooting holiday lights and was also selected for inclusion in the show.

The Momentum – Moving Forward exhibition takes place in two virtual galleries:  Gallery 1 and Gallery 2.  In addition, prints of the winning images are displayed in the atrium of the Municipal Services building.

The South San Francisco Cultural Arts Commission supports, promotes and protects community interest and diversity in art, culture and creative expression.
