Images by Brandon Stauffer, Suszi McFadden, and Elaine Heron Selected by the Triton Museum

Ellen Gilkerson | Published on 6/7/2023

A collaborative triptych by PACC members Brandon Stauffer and Suszi Lurie McFadden, and three images by member Elaine Heron have been selected for inclusion in the Salon at the Triton Museum of Art 2023 exhibition in Santa Clara.  The Triton received more than 1,700 submissions across multiple disciplines; 141 works were selected.

Triptych in Black and White, 2023 is one of the many pairings created by Brandon & Suszi as part of their “HumanEssence” collaboration, which displays Portraits and Abstracts side-by-side to tell a story that is greater than the sum of its parts.  Because each pair becomes a puzzle with infinite solutions, viewers can discover for themselves the solutions that speak to them with the most clarity and force.

Mongolian Hunter and His Eagle is one of three images by Elaine that are included in the Salon exhibition.  It was taken in the western part of Mongolia where people continue the practice of working with eagles to hunt fox and other animals in the snowy mountains during winter.  This portrait shows the close relationship between the hunter and the golden eagle.
