Image by Nadine Levin Selected for PAL’s Abstraction 2023 Exhibition

Ellen Gilkerson | Published on 8/12/2023

An image by PACC member Nadine Levin has been selected for inclusion in Pacific Art League’s Abstraction Exhibition 2023.  For this abstract-themed exhibition, all media, e.g., painting, sculpture, photography, digital art, and mixed media, were invited.  The juror was Stella Zhang, a Chinese contemporary artist whose practice ranges from painting to sculpture to installation.

The exhibition runs from September 8 through September 26.  The opening reception will take place on Friday, September 8, 5:30 to 8:00 pm.  Everyone is invited to attend this First Friday event.

Nadine’s image, Abstract #5, is a composite of an ICM image with a non-ICM image.  The base elements are a rusted and peeling Studebaker and cracks on a sidewalk.  Her intention was to create an abstract that suggested sky and ground.  This image was the First Place winner in the Creative Category of PACC’s March Digital Competition.
