Image by Wright Schickli Selected by the Praxis Gallery

Stuck, an image by PACC member Wright Schickli, has been selected for inclusion in the Found Object Exhibition at the Praxis Gallery and Photo Arts Center in Minneapolis.

In the Found Object Exhibition, Praxis Gallery presents photographic art that investigates this idiom: exploring the subject of the “found object” as pure visual form, detached from its history or utility, or conversely, the representation of the object as a catalyst for exploring broader issues such as subjectivity and socialization, memory and loss, or love and death.  Jonathan
Pavlica, the Praxis Gallery’s print & color artist, photo editor and installationist, was the juror.

Wright says:  Stuck is an image I captured with my iPhone XR after I finished playing pickleball one day this summer.  I happened to look down towards Matadero Creek and saw this sad-looking abandoned girl’s bike.  I wondered how the bike came to rest there and hoped there had been no accident.  I decided to lean over the fence and take this photo while tightly gripping my iPhone.
