A dramatically composed image by PACC member Allyson Ely
has been selected for inclusion in the Dynamic: Shadow and Light
On-Line Annex exhibition at the Black Box Gallery in Portland, Oregon. In the call for entries, Black Box Gallery wrote:
Photography is the documentation of patterns of darkness and light. Shadows enhance the relationships of subjects in an image, they give definition and dimension, which complements the quality of the light values. Photographers have used dramatic shadows and patterns in black and white images and have also explored using ethereal and moody shadows and textures in color photography. We will be looking for a range of how shadow and light are interpreted by contemporary photographers.
The juror was Todd Johnson, director of the Black Box Gallery. Twenty-four images were selected for exhibition in the gallery; and an additional thirty images were selected for the On-Line Annex Exhibition. The in-gallery exhibition opened on September 1st and will remain until September 20th.
